Ultra-light Axion Dark Matter

  • 00:58:19

Description

We will discuss the possibility that dark matter is comprised of an ultra-light axion-like particle or pseudo Nambu-Goldstone boson. We will go over both the particle physics motivations and the astrophysical implications. Novel features arise because of the astronomically large de Broglie wavelength. If time permits, we will also discuss the implications of certain spontaneously broken symmetries for cosmological large scale structure.
