This is a story of indirect consequences of the war. Faraked fled to save her family, but in the end she lost her daughter. Faraked is a generous, entrepreneurial women who's life tragedies start when her husband who translated for Americans, was targeted and forced to flee with the family to Syria. There they begin to feel safe when they are again targeted, and through an accident in the chaos of alerting others to their situation her daughter falls to her death from her bedroom window. Faraked in her deep sadness keeps her attention on how she can help others who have had to flee Iraq. She understands their loss and sadness. |
