Chris Reed-Landscape Lecture

Description

Chris Reed is the principal and founder of Stoss Landscape Urbanism, a Boston-based strategic design and planning practice and Adjunct Associate Professor of Landscape Architecture at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. Reed holds an AB in Urban Studies from Harvard College and an MLA from the University of Pennsylvania. Reed's research interests include infrastructure-based urbanism-manifest most robustly in North America in the Los Angeles metropolitan region and in innovative applications of ecological processes and mechanics. His infrastructural interests are being developed in a series of research seminars and design studios around the topic of Recalibrating Infrastructure; he also organized and hosted a colloquium at the GSD last spring titled "Critical Ecologies" which is being expanded into a book of the same name to be co-edited with Nina-Marie Lister. Reed's publications include public Works Practices" in Charles Waldheim's The landscape Urbanism Reader, published by Princeton Architectural Press.
