Using the metaphor of the jigsaw puzzle, she asserts that the dilemma of the modern American women is how to narrow her field and how to establish her priorities, especially in the realm of politics (which she defines generally as participation in public life). She discusses how the distractions of modern life and of domestic caretaking, however, frustrate this participation. |
